Part of a series of lithographic prints created at La Máquina, a press located in Oaxaca, dedicated to endangered species here in Mexico. The Mayan stingless bee, or Melipona beeicheii, has been impacted due to destruction of its natural habitat, pesticide use, and competition caused by the introduction of European species. Its symbiotic relationship with the vanilla orchid through pollinization means that both the insect and the plant are currently endangered.
